Pendragon Campaign (2)

Ok, much delayed but only by about 5 months! I'll continue on my catch up for our Pendragon Campaign.

Over the years since becoming friends Kian & Craig have done many great things. They have defeated evil knights & lords, almost single handidly recaptured city's, smashed invading saxons (lots of em), defeated unkillable Normans, dealt with Fae, Saved the country from an undead entity spreading a plague. Watched as Arthur drew his sword from that stone, Become Knights!, Become Knights of the round table, after the defeat of Lott they have even been made Earl's - on the border of Saxon controlled Anglia.

They are considered by most as mad! Neither has a fear of death and so they will take on the most foolhardy missions going and come out the other side victorious!

But in all the intermediate years the greated thing that has happened to Craig was falling in love! With the Lady Helen. Before he met her Craig put himself around a bit, but when she said no! that was a challenge! And after an incident with a Demon he woke up to see her face and that was it for him trapped and in love! Below is the Poem he wrote for her and performed in the court of Nottingham when trying to win her.

A spirit living wild and free,
Soaring High among the clouds,
Running Fast across the land.

Then came the eyes of forest green,
The voice of joyous singing birds,
And this spirit paused to see.

Hair the shade of midnight skies,
And skin reflected in the moon,
There stood a beauty radiant,
To put a woodland nymph to shame.

In a place of deepest horror,
The lightning struck and dark did come,
But when I opened up my eyes,
Beside me was angelic wonder.

This is the place my heart would be,
With this woman of warmth and care,
Beside this lady of charm and wit.

Free no longer willingly,
To be for you and you alone,
Thus I would pledge myself to thee.

I'll admit I'm actually pround of that one. Anyway onwards! They married and in 507 AD there first daughter Sharlwyn was born. Followed in 508 by the Twins Elwyn & Mael. Then in 509 Daughter number 3 in Arlwyn. The following year tradegy struck and Helen died in childbirth. Craig was devestated by this and had never been the same since. What makes this tale worse is Craig's best friend married a year after him. And his wife also died in childbirth a year after Helen.

So a few more years have past since then and we are almost upto date!

The Steamwheedle Cartel

So after lots of trips it is finally complete! Exalted with all four goblin factions in the Cartel :)  Now I am able to move onto the next faction on my hit list! Wintersabre Trainers!

I was told to look at an armoury profile for Emilyspear on the Sylvanas realm LINK 33 exalted's is quite impressive! and in some intresting factions! Ravenholdt? - Non rogue? intreeging (4 attempts to misspell that word! damn is my spelling Awsome!) will have to investigate that at a later date!

All for a Bow!

I saw the season 3 arena bow... It looks AWSOME! Stats aren't bad either but its one of the best looking bows in the game yet! See for yourself.

True the dressing room background dosn't help, but until I have it in my hands thats the best I can do! Anyway back to the tale! So I made a 3v3 arena team with some friends and got squashed!

See the problem was two fold! One I've not really done arena's before! Two my gear is so not upto higher level arena matches! Problem one will be fixed with experience which will come as I work on my quest to get the bow! Problem two requires gearing myself up in PvP gear! So over the weekend I have done a stupid amount of AV (its an AV weekend)  and have got the first two bits of gear. Can't make use of Sunday & Monday in AV due to being at my parent for Christmas but such is life.

My shopping list of gear, which should give me the survivability to push my rating upto 1850 is.

Honour Based (Honour needed in the brackets)
  1. Medallion of the Alliance (Done)
  2. Vindicator's Chain Sabatons (Done)
  3. Gladiator's Chain Helm (Done)
  4. Gladiator's Chain Spaulders (11,250)
  5. Vindicator's Pendant of Triumph (15,300)
  6. Vindicator's Chain Girdle (17,850)
  7. Vindicator's Band of Triumph (15,300)
  8. Vindicator's Chain Bracers (11,794)
  9. Battlemaster's Cruelty (30,000)
  10. Gladiator's Chain Armor (14,500)
  11. Gladiator's Chain Leggings (14,500)
Arena Based (Arena points in brackets)
  1. Vengeful Gladiator's Chain Gauntlets (1,125)
  2. Vengeful Gladiator's Chain Leggings (1,875)
  3. Vengeful Gladiator's Chain Armor (1,875)
  4. Vengeful Gladiator's Chain Helm (1,875)
  5. Merciless Gladiator's Chain Spaulders (1,304)
Other
  1. Dory's Embrace (60 Badges of Justice)
  2. Battlemaster's Cruelty (75 Badges of Justice)
Over all a pretty long list! Now a brief clarification of order! The Vindicator boots came first so that I could put the Boars speed enchant on them (minor speed increase & 9 stamina) this enchant means I don't have to use a speed increase meta gem in the helm.

Next comes the season 1 helm & shoulders, basically at current ratings it will be 3 weeks before I can get the season 3 gloves and as I need the 2 set bonus (+35 Resiliance) as soon as possible these are on the list. The shoulders being selected as the second piece because the season three shoulders need a 2000 personal rating! higher than the bow.

Then it is time to collect the rest of the Vindicator set, which after the neck peice for its socket will be in order of decending resiliance rating. The battle masters cruely is next. You will notice that it is on two lists because I may buy it either way depending on which one its reached with first.

Finally on the honour list are the last two bits of Season 1 gear I want. they are in order of worst first, because I'll pick up the season 3 replacements in the opposite order! If I get to the season 3 versions first I will of course not be spending honour on the old ones.

The arena list is basically what I get when I can! with the gloves being first as they are cheapest, and have a nice +5% multishot damage buff.

Wonder how far through this list I'll get before I can buy the awsome bow? time will tell.

Hunter Decks

Starting with the Beast Mastery deck and Flameheart! The current deck list is as follows.

Allies [31]
4x Bloodsoul, 4x Scout Omerrta, 4x Scraps, 3x Shelly, 4x Kagella Shadowmark, 4x Broan Charges-the-Fight, 2x Nyn'jah, 2x Instructor Antheol, 4x Fury

Abilities [14]
4x Bestial Wrath, 3x Wing Clip, 4x Master of the Hunt, 3x Trophy Kill

Quests [16]
4x Solanian's Belongings, 4x Chasing A-Me 01, 4x Finkle Einhorn, At Your Service, 4x Torek's Assault

In the end I swapped in 3 shelly's to replace the big drops. This gives me an extra 3 pet cards for use
with master and beastial wrath. The Instructor is a must as he gives an extra answer to cards like the Greench or Proudmoore etc.

The deck I've had the biggest problems with is solo rogue! so I'm tempted to drop the Nyn'jah and put a couple of anti equip or ability allies in. The side deck is going to be drastically worked on.

Getting rid of most of it and going for more equip and ability hate.
preferably in ally form so they can be recursed :)

Now onto the other deck! which is very much a work in progress. Kana Nassis.

Allies [21]
4x Korthas Greybeard, 4x Kulvo Jadefist, 4x Parvink, 4x Galway Steamwhistle, 2x Medoc Spiritwarden, 2x Breanna Greenmother, 1xThe Abominable Greench

Abilities [6]
3x Trophy Kill, 3x Lightning Reflexes

Equipment [18]
4x Blackcrow, 3x Skyfire Hawk-Bow, 3x Wraith Scythe, 4x Band of the Ranger-General, 4x Hauberk of Desolation

Quests [16]
4x Rescue the Survivors!, 4x The Defias Brotherhood, 3x The Missing Diplomat, 3x Chasing A-Me 01, 3x Sunken Treasure

Ok the basic premise of this deck is simple, stall until I can get out a Band, a Hauberk, a Bow and Galway able to tap. Then its infinite damage for the win! The deck plays quite nicely but several changes are needed! 4x The Fare of Lar'korwri are needed as they would allow me to drop
Galway on my opponents end phase. And other changes are to follow, when I think of them!

Ok thats it for now, bed in 40 mins so time for a couple more AV's

The World of Warcraft TCG Catchup Post

Well, loads has gone on since the last post!

Darkmoon Fair London - Got into the draft, where I pulled a Stronghold Gauntlets :) Also for top 64 got an Onyxia playmat. This was my second one so I gave it to Chris from Pheonix (the only trader in the event) and sold it for £20. That was my entry fee back + £10 on top :) Overall a fun trip!

The worlds came and went, the 4th set - March of the legion has been released - I've qualified for next years regionals.

Tonight was the City Championship (not sure how often these are going to be tho!) and my winning deck was: -

Kassandra Flameheart

Allies [31]
4x Bloodsoul
4x Scout Omerrta
4x Scraps
4x Kagella Shadowmark
4x Broan Charges-the-Fight
2x Nyn'jah
2x Instructor Antheol
4x Fury
1x King Mukla
1x The Abominable Greench
1x Varimathras

Abilities [14]
4x Bestial Wrath
3x Wing Clip
4x Master of the Hunt
3x Trophy Kill

Quests [16]
4x Solanian's Belongings
3x Chasing A-Me 01
2x Finkle Einhorn, At Your Service
4x The Reason for the Season
3x Torek's Assault

Side Deck [10]
4x Bloody Welcome
3x Sonic Spear
2x Spirit Bond
1x Thunderfury

The deck is aggressive. Using similar principles to Omedus rush in the use of Broan & Kagella. I have gone for allies that on the whole have 3 or more health - this is due to the increasing amount of cards that do damage across the field, the bane of most rush!

Bloodsoul is an awsome card. 2/3 for 1! True it can only attack heros but who cares! And scraps! a 4/3 for 2!

Anyway the changes that I'm going to make straight away are dropping the 3 big cards (one 7 & two 9 drops) in exchange for 3x Bloodblade, a 5/5 for 4 that can only attack heros.

When the end of December comes round the Reason's will of course be dropped, and I'll up Torek's to 4, Chasing to 4.  And probably but not definatly Finkles' to 4 as well.

As far as the side deck goes, the Thunderfury and spirit bond's are out. I may replace the sonic spears with Ally based equipment destruction. As for the last few cards, not sure - ability hate maybe. Will decide for next Thursdays event :)

The World of Warcraft Catchup Post!

A lot has happened since my last post on WOW or anything else for that matter! - This has mainly been due to laziness. - So here is the first of my catch up posts.

Starting with Raids

Kael'thas Sunstrider died on the 21st of November. And I got the T5 chest giving me a 4 piece set bonus :)

We then spent a couple of weeks of attuning the rest of the guild to Mount Hyjal. Before entering it for the first time on the 2nd of December, which I missed, on the 3rd tho we one shotted Winterchill! and by the end of the evening Anetheron was also dead. After Kael & Vashj these
bosses are a walk in the park.

Last night we took our first steps into the Black Temple. All seemed ok until we wasted a criminaly stupid amount of time wiping on the penultimate batch of adds before the first boss. Once that was dealt with it was time to learn! Best attempt a 4% wipe. He is sooo going down on the next visit.

Moving onto Reputation

Steam Wheedle Cartel rep is moving along nicely as and when I get the chance to visit Dire Maul. Down to 41 Knot rescues to max out all 4 factions at 999/1000 exalted.

Exodar rep is also finally done, completing the 5 Alliance factions.

With the change in Wintersabre Trainer rep for a furball killing trip, from 75 a hand in to 250, I've once again started working on this faction. Once I reach honoured (8 more trips) I can include the giant killing quest as well. This repeatable has also increased in rep from 75 upto 350. This will make 600 rep a round trip - questimate average is 20-30 mins a time. The mount will be mine eventually!

Finally there are the factions for MH & BT which will slowly climb to exalted as we raid.

Now my Alts

I have been working on leveling alts in order to have every profession covered. The current state of play with this is as follows: -

Feltomoon Mage (48) - Tailor/Alchemist
- I've had this char since before TBC was released, when it was my lvl 35 (highest it needed to be) transmute alt, hence the name!

Kyella Shamen (26) - Engineer/Jewelcrafter
- Jewelcrafting is obvious as its a Drenai! This character was a miner, but once I started the druid it was switched to Engineering instead.

Playcat Druid (29) - Miner/Herbalist
- Ok so the name is not very inventive but so what! I needed a gatherer who can stealth instances and I am NEVER going to level a rogue on principle. When it hit level 70 I will buy the epic flying mount riding skill level and switch Wisp back from Herbalist to Skinner.

Erikka Warrior (22) - Blacksmith/Enchanter
- First of leveling a warrior, even as fury is HELL. This char covers the remaining two professions and as I won't play a rogue these two go well together. Basically at level 70 it will be able to solo DM North tribute runs, using skeleton keys, and then shard all the blue loot. This will help to supply Wisp with the LBS needed for Shen'drelar rep! Because they are currently about 10g each on the AH and I need hundreds!

While I am trying to get them all to at least 60 before WotLK is released, the most important is Playcat, as I need wisp to be a skinner again! Second is the mage to transmute whatever new items will be needed.

Reputaion and Proof Positive on my Sanity

It started when I downloaded a new simple mod, that shows you which crafting patterns you need and where to get them. So decided it was finnaly time to get the two cloaks I needed from DM North. Pattern: Hide of the Wild and Pattern: Shifting Cloak. When I release Knot Thimblejack the first time I got 350 rep with the Steamwheedle Cartel (Booty Bay, Ratchet, Everlook & Gadgetzan). I'd forgotten about that!!! So me being me I thought how many times do I need to do this to get revered with all 4 factions - answer 34. And so it began, for the last week every moment I got I've been in DM North farming for the Shackle Key to release Knot, get my rep and try and get the patterns. And now I am revered :)

Shame about only getting the Hide of the Wild pattern tho. Still I have more chances as I need 60 keys to get all to exalted! With 3 more after to max out!!!!

This tho is not the end of the story! O no not by a long shot! While farming I started to get Librams of ProtectionRapidity and Focus
These books along with a Pristine Black Diamond, 2 or 4 Large brilliant shards & either Blood of Heros, Skin of Shadow or Abomination Stitchings can be handed in to make a leg/head enchant. These are only lvl 60 enchants and therefore irelavent. What is important is for each hand in you get 500 rep with Shen'dralar (The elves in the Dire Maul Library!) So..... based on

I would need 1700 + 6000 + 12000 + 21000 + 999 = 41699 rep for 999/1000 exalted. Which is 82 books. I have 10 so far so as any sane person would I've decided to start working on this faction as well! Come on! HOW many people can claim exalted with Shen'dralar?

Finally helped some people do SL for there karazhan key fragment and this happened -

Some Turbulent Times

Not posted on anything for a while! been sort of busy and not really in the mood. Part of the problem has been some trouble in the guild. We've had people leave get annoyed with each other etc and raiding was suffering :( Part of the problem was our GM becoming a father and having less time to RL or be online. Our other raid leader is "Under the Thumb" of his girlfriend and can't raid any more either.

But now things have changed. A lot of new experienced people some more leavers and a restucturing of the guild. So now there is a Guild Council of 3 in charge. Then a Raid Council of 3 who RL and decide on tactics. And finally the class leaders of which I am the new hunter CL :)

First task - find out what my hunters gear is like, and swap in an out to get them upto speed asap! Which is why I'm writing this and playing on an alt rather than being in SSC.

Dual Wielding Axes

Wednesday saw some bizare boss kills!
On Al'ar we where melee light due to recent losses and AKF rogues and magic heavy - this resulted in a kill 17 second before enrage!!!!
Then on Solarian we got her to 75% at first adds, 50% for the second set, 28% for the third! The DPS was truely impressive and the adds died in seconds due to stupid amounts of AoE!!!!

As the the topic of the post! I am a happy bunny now for the reason shown in the pic.

The Good & The Bad

The good - we are making definate progress on Kael! Tuesday saw us getting Thelodrid & the remaining weapons down in phase 3 of the fight - I think that he will be going down in the next week or so - Which puts us nicely ontrack for starting Mount Hyjal by the start of November - Which matches the prediction made when we killed Vashj.

The bad - we lost Azshene to Sora. He is without a doubt one of the best rogues I've ever played with. He'll top the damage meters every time, while riding the aggro threshhold perfectly almost never drawing aggro! He will be missed, doubly so as good rogues are hard to find. We also lost Wild our main tank to a less raid intensive guild - Sure there is more going on there than meets the eye - but who can tell.

Honour Hold Exalted

Two back to back runs of the Shattered halls and I am finally exalted with Honour Hold :)

This is actually an important one because it means I can now craft Nethercobra Leg Armor which I plan to get onto the T5 legs of every hunter! Zardos who helped me with the last two runs has his. Need to do Ker and then me, Nos & the new hunter as and when we get our legs.

Dazed & Confused

I mentioned in the nats post about my day one T-Shirt. I've had it since my first year of Uni, which makes it 11-12 years old, but it still makes people stop and doubletake so its usefulness has not ended!

Even the camera struggled :)

Return to Roots

Now the Nats are firmly out of the way and unlike those going to the worlds my plans are already set on nexts years qualification! So on Thursday at lunch I knocked together a rough draft for a Kana Nassis hunter deck. Got home from work and built a slightly different version, due to the annoying little one still having one of my blaster shot's I only put two in and adlibed the rest.

Comfortably won all my matches 2-0 and even handled Jakes nats hunter deck without to much trouble. The deck list below is what I played and the current itteration is in blue. I've lost the list of what I wrote up at work.

Will I play hunter at DMF London? not sure yet, but probably, its where I started after all and I am more comfortable playing a hunter deck than, say a warrior. Not yet ruled out Bubble Boy control tho!

Deck: Blue Hunter Survival Rush (This is for referencing in future posts)

They Live!

A classic, in my opinion, sci fi film of the 80's was They Live, in which aliens use subliminal messages to control humanity. In the film special glasses created by a resistance movement reveal the truth of the bug eyed monster living amont is! And now in WoW the same thing has been created!!

And the truth I discovered is more shocking that any one, even me, could have imagined. The BUG EYED aliens are EVERYWHERE. Even among my own guild! The following pictures are of a very graphic & psycologically disturbing nature, those who are squemish or have heart problems should not read any further.

The Delayed Nationals Blog!

Ok first off this is late for one major reason, I did badly :). The other major reason was I have been catching up on my farming and rep  grinding on WoW.

Any time to begin my post about my Nat's experience and what I have learned.

Got up stupidly early on the Saturday morning, knackered because despite planning for 8 hours sleep I woke up in the early hours, and couldn't get back to sleep because the club just along the road was playing louder than normal! Thats what is felt like anyway.

Off to the station at a leisurly stroll! Unlike Jake and Jamie who had an hours walk! And we all meet up, jump on an earlier train than planned as it was pretty much sitting in the station at the time. Chatted, Lent cards to finish (almost) decks and played my Dotz deck against Jake. He won 2 out of 3 I'm glad to say.

Sign up for the tournament once there and let the games begin! Just have to add this is the first major Tournament i've ever been to and it was exhausting!

Round 1 - vs somebody who I've met before and his name escapes me at the moment.
Went one down from the first game - Then in the 2nd as I was balancing a table judge spotted some cards I'd dropped on the floor. When asked when I could have said between games, but that would be lying - As I dropped them when shuffling at the start (*See the future post on The Curse of New Sleeves!). Because I had been playing with an illegal deck I get a game lose which = match lose. /sigh but you live and learn.

Round 2 - vs one of the swansea lot, who Top 8'd. Loved his playmat! It was a menu.
And got squshed quite thuroughly (damn I wish I could remember names! and spell too).

Round 3 - vs a lady who comes from somewhere near Dartford (thats my home town btw). Was an easy 2/0 win but she was a good laugh and I LOVED the Model Yetis for yeti tokens.

Round 4 - Another couple of easy wins, can't remember much about this game!

Round 5 - vs the hero I can't remember, But Magni, Parvink, Medoc & Crown of Destruction!!!! Played there parts. Going into this game I was 2/2 so a win here would put me into the draft. Unfortunatly in the 3rd game I made the mistake that would bug me for a few days, before I took it in my stride and moved on! He said he was taking a chance and played Medoc. I added up 5 devastate damage in my head and attacked his hero. Then played devestate and realised it was only 4 :( The endless recurring Parvinks did me in.

Round 6, the one I had to win to carry on into the draft - vs Jake. This was the matchup I did not want, a team mate also on 2/3 one of us was getting knocked out. I went into the game Confident as his deck had never beaten mine. Unfortunatly for me this was the day that changed.

End up 2/4 and didn't make the cut for draft. Mistake one was avoiding caffiene so I didn't crash in the evening! Instead I ended up with a MASSIVE caffine withdrawal head ache - And damn it hurt. (Yes I'm a Caffiene Addict, I tried giving up - but being honest I haven't got the willpower to do it by myself :( sad but true.)

Had a drink, with a VERY drunk Jamie (he'd had a point of Cider for every game loss! plus a couple more from Chris and one from me! Chatted to a guy who had brought a rogue deck (can't remeber his name - will have to find out!). And waited while they did the draft - GOD WAS IT SLOW! and the first match.

Later went and had Tapas with a few of the other players, most I know a couple I didn't and back to the hotel to sleep.

Day 2 Begins, I've decided to play in the constructed for a box and so Was not, not drinking coke today! Ok don't sign up for the sealled two-headed ogre for an Ipod Nano (I have my Sony Walkman and very happy with it!) 11ish get to sign up for the side event I'm still here for! The first pod of 3 round of draft finished just before the start, so the people who dropped get to enter.

We begin!

Round 1 - vs I really can't remember! I win.
Round 2 - vs mmm can't remember this one either! I win.
Round 3 - Alex (another one of the swansea lot! Warrax solo vs Gorebelly solo! Duel Wield vs Twig. A case of who ever draws combos first is likely to win! We noticed a mistake in my first game so I gave him the win - my mistake so only fair! Got a win in the second and lost the third. This game was Tough! But really enjoyed the challenge! I lose.
Round 4 - vs a Paladin deck! Get the first game as a win, Got stalled in the second but managed to keep myself alive (just) when time was called to result in a Win.

Top 8 and the quarters! vs.... Alex again! The revenge match. Was EVEN harder that the first time around, and I was seriously shaking at the end. Managed to pull a 2/1 win (was 3 health left in the third game before Wraith Scythe kicked in and pulled me back to safety!). This was the BEST game I had played all weekend. And totally enjoyed it.

Top 4 and the semis! vs.... The Paladin again (who now I remember is the boyfriend of the women with the Yeti models! She hated my Dazed and Confused T-shirt from the saturday.
He completely shut me down in both games! And when I was forced to just explode or lose in the first one he had a lay on hands :(. In the second game a recurring hammer of justice shut me down. And I didn't make used of my Devestates to make him attack me. So that was me done.

Prizes! Not the box and complete set of Molten Core treasure cards, but a Zapped Giants T-Shirt (I wanted one anyway!), A set of Azeroth other sized Hero cards (gives me the set so will get em Laminated). 6 FOO boosters. - Nothing major but the last one had a Mana Etched Pantaloons as the rare, I screwed it up! I Swear at least 25% of rares printed for FOO are this god damned jank card!

Home time, got the train and went home! It was an awsome weekend, tireing but cool. There is a serious sense of community in the UK-WOW TCG scene, partly and not a small part, due to Zapped Giants. We need to work on this and build! More players is want we want. And friendly people (There was a LOT of card sharing going on, I borrowed 3 of my Stronghold Gauntlets from a player I've only met 4 or 5 times!)

Thats it for now!

Ogri'la and that rep block!

Decided I needed to to some daily quests as gold is beginning to run lower than I would like, so off to BEM and the Ogre daily's. Bomb some demons first with the new cooldown of 5 seconds rather than 10. (Made it a lot more fun due to me flying through a lot more flak trying to get it done as quick as pos). Any way back to hand it in and I get 500 Ogri'la rep!

mmmm, strange

Next off to banish some demons for the next quest, easy peasy, and return to hand it in to the ogres and 350 Ogri'la rep!

Now this is good! as I get the last 999 needed to max out and complete the faction. The problem is WHY O WHY O WHY did I not get rep from killing demons the same day I had just hit 0/1000 exalted?????

But I am happy now!

Solarian Down

On tuesday we went and we killed her :) Third day of attempts, I missed Sunday's due to the UK Nats - will get around to posting about that sometime soonish, I hope.

And on Wednesday the new patch 2.2 changes the fight! so tomorrow we will get to see how different this makes it.

No picture I'm afraid as they are coming out terrible :( but will add on after the next kill.

Anyway we have had 3 Vashj kills so far in three weeks so she is close to being counted as on farm (Unlike the other 2 guilds who got there first kills the week they did... there still waiting for number 2!)

High Astromancer Solarian

So with SSC cleared this raid week, its time to start working on the last 2 bosses in tempest keep! So of we go and stupidly wipe on the first group of trash!!! On the plus side one of them dropped my first bit of loot for the night :).

Al'ar was reached and on the second attempt downed - that makes twice for the guild - and lo and behold Netherbane drops again. Unfortunatly I wasn't allowed a matching pair yet as our guild leader wanted his first one.

Onwards to the Loot Reaver, spanked him easily. I also sent blackwind in towards the end and noticed he wasn't taking too much damage from the ground pounding. I think next week I'll keep him in for most of the fight as with Mend pet up he should survive ok. Look Reaver dropped 2x Hunter/Mage/Lock shoulder meaning I now have my 2 set bonus :) Two bits of loot in one night! Nice.

Finally onto Solarian. Which is the point of this whole post, honest, I mean I didn't really just want to show my new gear. Intersting fight this. Even after halve a night of wiping on her I think most of the raid is getting the idea of what is needed. Should be better next time as well now we've recruited an extra mage!

That'll do for now have thinks to do :)

Vashj Dead!

Vashj is DEAD! Three more attempts, one a silly messup in phase 1, one was phase 3 but messy at the end of phase 2, third was the charm and she died! That has been an awsome Moral boost for Prometheus. We have beaten the Guild Killer intact :)

Lady Vashj at 1%

Tonight has been awsome! We have got to stage three, 3 times so far - 2 messy and not worth mentioning, but the third! We got the bitch down to 1%

Hopefully a Kill post will follow SOON

A Milestone Passed

Have passed the 1000 mark for industries in which I own ideas. Admittidly there are currently 5255 more to go, but its a number where I can say things are going well!

On the other hand my Karma collection is falling behind! For this I will blame Jack who has been crashing at my place the last week or so and stealing my PC!

Countdown to the UK Nationals (8 days)

Well last night was the penultimate draft event at Pheonix Games before the nationals next weekend and it was a good one!

On the plus side I think I am getting better and drafted both well and aggresively. The packs I opened really helped as well too!

1) Heros of Azeroth and the rare was Flame Wrath that ubre polearm of Onyixa whelp slayage! also a bomb card in draft as it can clear the field of weenies! Later on I had a choice of Acolyte Demia and Medoc Spiritwarden - at the time it was tough but Demia won because she is controlled board clearance. As I'd also picked up a Donna Calister, an awsome protector! Plus an Eye of Rend to work with my weapon, I was happy with the first set!

2) Dark Portal and the rare was Lightning Reflexes. ... There was no way in hell I was going to let that card move round as it is POWERFUL!
A bit later a Chops was round so I took him and the pack after was a Hootie, that decided me the drenai survival hunter - Kana. Picked up some Boots to keep my feet warm and a bomb in the form of Bretander of the Claw. Still happy so far :)

3) Fires of Outlands. With these sets I picked up loads of healers! Three Hailey Goodchiledes, Nalkus and Neeka. Hailey is an awsome combo with both Donna and Demia. Picked up some more protectors mainly the instant Christopher the Devout and the impressive Kulvo Jadefist.
To round the two packs of with this set I picked up a Timeslicer as a second weapon.

Well the matches!
Round 1 was vs Chris from Pheonix Games playing Azarak, making it a hunter v hunter showdown. He had shelly's, lots of em! and I had Flamewrath, protectors and annoying healers! I won :)

Round 2 was vs Spectral Tiger's Chris (hes called that because he has pulled TWO spectral tiger loots cards!!!). This time it was
hunter vs paladin. Can I just say He had a god damn TWIG!!! Fortunatly I had Bretander to protect me, nicely combined with Hailey to heal him. An appearance by Demia and of course the flame wrath ment that in the end I won :)

Round 3 was vs Jack. Hunter vs Druid. Close match up but I go Lightning Reflexes and then Flamewrath out and racing him to his flip for damage - Fortunatly for me I kept the field clear and his flip would have left him 3 damage short - I win again!

So in the end a 3/0 win. Picked up a Shadow Fiend and 4th Vindicator's Gauntlets in the picks afterwards.

Another Game

Couple of days ago I finally got around to setting up a face book account. Then added on the game Warbook which is what this post is all about.

Warbook, is a simplified variant of a game a friend of mine played online a couple of years ago. Basically it’s a case make soldiers, build on your land, then explore or conquer more land from other people.

You start by choosing your hero’s type – I went with mage which has a good magical power and regenerated mana fastest. Not going to describe the others from here as this post is about buildings. Well it will be when I’ve finished the intro!

Every one can make soldiers – 1 Attack/1 Defence, - knights 3 Attack/1 Defence – pike men 1 Attack/3 Defence. Then there is a special unit whose stats depend on your class, in my case these are Wizards 5 Attack/3 Defence.

Now we get onto buildings. On your land you can build several types of structure all of which will cost you 500 gold each. Some classes get bonuses to there structures but that’s irrelevant atm.

Mines – You get increased revenue from lands with mines.

Forts – Increase your defence
Training Grounds – Increase your attack

Barracks – Reduce your training costs (Recruiting soldiers and upgrading them the other 3 types)

Amplifiers – Increase your magic attack
Barriers – Increase your magic defence

Ok, looks simple enough really but apart from mines, where if you double the number you have you also double the income earned from them, its not so simple. You see for the other structures there effectiveness is based on the % of land they cover. As you expand you need to build more to get the same effect. I find this an interesting concept to work with and means you have to think carefully about what you intend to do! For example if you have lots of Training Grounds then you need less soldiers to attack and capture land but that could mean your defence is weaker.

Well my initial target is –
Mines 25%, Forts 30%, Training Grounds 20%, Barracks 10%, Barriers 10%, Amplifiers 5%

The large amount of defence is meant to discourage others from attacking me, while I build up my army. The 20% on attack is to assist me in conquering land and therefore earning experience to level up.
Can’t see a point in having a bigger amount of Barracks as gold is not a major issue.
The magical attack is low because until I increase my army and level, most of my mana is being used to spy on and survey the lands of other heroes as well as casting the alchemy spell to create more gold. When I’ve levelled up quite a bit and have lots more mana I will increase the MA while reducing my PA.

Ok the moral of this story is… who am I kidding this is not an American film and therefore pointless moralising is not required! So I’ll leave it here.

Mirror Match

Sunday was the monthly wow event at Pheonix Games. This time we did a 3 round constructed plus 3 round draft tournament. The best game of constructed I have yet played was me vs Jack in round three. And as we where stress testing one of our deck ideas for the nationals it was a mirror match. Third round and its one game each, the plays where almost identical for the first four or five rounds.

The situation then, both of us dual wielding two Wraith Scythes with a bow to hit back with when attacked, and effectivly every attack that was made would fully heal the attacker. The ONLY way to win was to do 30 damage in a single turn. Both of us using our quests and hoping to draw the cards that will fill the gap in damage from the weapons and 30.

Time was called on my turn and so I didn't attack with the scythes and just used the bow. Jack went all out on his next turn and with the use of an ability and playing an instant weapon he got the damage over 30. Fortunatly for me I had kept the scythes back and also playing an instant weapon I pushed my damage up enough to cause a mutual kill. The tie breaker and Jack lucked out on his starting hand, I didn't.

Then it was the draft, first pack Predatory Strikes, ok I'm going to play druid. Started drafting hoarde allies (afterwards I realised this was stupid and I should have gone alliance for Telrander's flip). Dark portal pack and two Cat Forms came my way, with a Call of the Wild. Did a bit of hate drafting of Grovewalkers, took 3 in total, and I was set.

Lost the second game to Jake, aka the "Annoying Little One" but thats ok his drafting skills are seriously improving and I lost by just one turn. If only his talking would also improve - I.e. more silence less words!

Final result 4/2. Beating Jake on tiesbreakers for 2nd.

The Ideas Market

It appears I have been a dopy and blind Muppet! So as that’s nothing new I’ll continue. For the last few weeks I’ve been looking at recent idea productions and then wandering around the Industries map looking for ones I don’t yet have ideas in. The idea being that once I get some idea’s I can see when more are available from my portfolio.

Then I saw that little line on the Industries Menu – “Ideas Market” – How I have missed this I don’t know! But from here I can see all the industries with ideas available, can hide the ones I have artefacts in already! Sort by price etc…

Needless to say my progress towards getting every artefact and now, as an added part of the plan, 1 idea in every industry, has accelerated

Ogri’la!

I have finally hit exalted with the Ogres! And that makes 21 Factions at exalted now :)
I say finally because I have been 2 days worth of daily quests off it for about 2 weeks!

The bad news is, well as far as I am concerned, is that my rep hit 0/1000 exalted and stopped :( And its resisting all attempts from the daily quests in moving up to 999/1000 where a faction needs to be to count as “Complete”. I did pick up a dark rune from the demon slaying quests but handing that in didn’t get me 10 rep either…

Will have to see if the controlling demon quest is worth rep for completing. On one hand I hope it does so I can get those last 999 points. On the other hand I hope it doesn’t because that means I’ll have to kill demons every day and learn to get pass stage 2……

Nice People

Just feel the need to say thanks to a couple of people on Blogshares!

The first is Sara Bear. I made a slight mistake when raiding a blog and chose the option next to it – Restructure Blog. The result is I spent about $600,000,000 (about 10-15% of my liquid assests!!!) and got some shares in the blog I was ment to be raiding for ideas! Any way she realised it was a mistake and set all the shares in another blog as compensation – (which will get me around $15M a day from artefact manipulation.

The second is [PC] AdamF who out of the blue sent me 500 Chips and wished me luck with my plan.

An Aside

Last night I went clubbing for the first time in 2-3 months, and the first time since they banned smoking in public buildings.

Awsome night out, but then retribution usually is :)

No One Smoking! ment I didn't need my inhaler which I usually do when out, and this morning my skin still smelt of the shower gel I used yesterday and not the stench the cancer sticks tend to leave your skin and cloth reaking off.

I'm happy about that ban!

Lady Vashj - O Mistress of Wipeing

Ok on tuesday we had a whole evening of Vashj attempts! This is without a doubt the most technical fight I have ever taken part in! The only ones that come any where near as close are CThun, which I never had a large number of attempts at! And the original learning of Razorgore at the start of BWL.

At the end of the night the following progress had been made:-
  1. We could get the first strider down to around 20% by the time the second one appeared! (usually).
  2. The naga's once picked up tended to die ok (usually).
Also the following had been learnt, well at least by me.
  1. Rogues aka Face Paints are about 50% - 75% a bunch a moaners if they have to run around a lot.
  2. Ker for once isn't calling people useless for not mastering there jobs first attempt!
  3. The strider death rate - from 3 hunters (one of which is crappy MM spec tho) 2 locks (one of who was kiting), 1 Elem shammy (Also kiting if needed) and 1 Shadow Priest (ubre Nils!) - Meant we need more practice and better gear!
  4. We're doing better than another guild who got to her at the same time.
Well its now Thursday so off to draft which means I will miss tonights Learning Fest.

Super Heroes!

This sunday we started a new campaign - using the Marvel Universe RPG system - and it looks like it could be amusing! I'm going to divide this post into three sections; game setting, character creation, something else.

Game Setting
Ok Ian who is running the game it setting it in his own universe rather marvel for various reasons, called the CD universe! (Yup you can guess where that came from! the tonne of his game is very much more that of DC than marvel). This is a setting hes been using for over 2 years and so the major villians and other "Super Hero" groups are well defined.
Now for the interesting twist, which takes some getting used to! The characters players are playing are actually being drawn by some guy at CD Comics in New York! But when your playing there is no realisation of this fact for them and they won't ever "cross-over" into our world.
A good way to highlight this point, Ian ended a previous game session as follows.

GM: "And then you hear a voice behind you say blah blah blah blah"
Player: "Was the voice male or female?"
GM: "You don't know its a comic!"

Character Generation
As noone had played this system before this took some time. But I feel that it was done in a really good way. First off it every one decided on the kind hero they wanted to play - We got a the monk from Rich (No surprises there!), Chris went with the telepath who needs drugs to keep his powers undercontrol and has spent most of his life in a psychiatric ward!, Joss with the scientist/inventor. And me with a Mage - I must admit my character choice has been influenced by Constantine. (Note to self must pick up all the graphic novels of Hellblazer).
Next we heard about the available abilities making a note of the ones that interested us. In my case magic, combat, investigative stuff, hex spheres (raw magic and weird things happen). Modifiers came next and finally we heard ways of making powers cheaper. Then deciding on challenges 1-3 of them. After all this we got to spend out points to create our characters :)

Well I ended up with Luke Talis. PI & Mage, who sees the darker creatures of this universe and does what he can to destroy them. A man who suffers constant nightmares about the things and dimensions he can see and resorts to valium and alcohol to try and get dreamless sleep - not always successfully.

Even tho I can't draw - I'm tempted to do a comic-esq blog for Luke. We'll see!

Something Else
Indigo with red polkadots and green stripes is the new black.

Blogshares and the Plan

Well I after a little bit of the plan mentioned in my first post on Blogshares I decided to pay for Premium Account so that I can do so much more. And the then I ditched the original plan as it was way to slow for making B$. Well nothing compared to the 700 Million I effectivly started with! In place of a plan I obviously need a plan so the new objectives have been set.

1) Artifact Collecting.
Artifacts can have a huge impact on the game, one of the blogs I have shares in balances itself at around B$10M for the 4000 shares. Each day I can pump this upto over B$20M with my artifacts and then sell. Before pushing the already plumetted value, after sale, even lower before finally pressuring the public to sell me back the 4000 shares for under B$1M. Thats a nice easy 20 or so million a day! So my first goal is to collect every Artifact in the game before looking for similar if not better blogs to pump for cash! I'll put a progress meter on the side in a bit.

2) Karma.
Karma is earned by voting blogs into industies. And having that vote "moderated" by someone else with 750 or more Karma. Now the reason I want this Karma is two fold, first it puts me up on the composite rank! I will in time be gunning for the top 100, then 10, then 1st! Second when you have 750 Karma you get to use all your artifacts TWICE in 24 hours rather than just once, this means a potential huge jump B$ profit from trading and manipulating shares. My goal is 750 some time in September and so I'll vote on 5-10 newly added bloggs each day.

3) Making B$.
To start with while I concentrate on objective 1 & 2 I won't try and make to much in the way of Cash on hand. I'm thinking a small B$50 Million a day should survice for now. At least until I have all the cheap artifacts.

Ok time to get back to making B$!!!!

Karazhan and new Guild Records

Friday and Monday are the days we tend to do Karazhan these days and while we try to use it to gear up newer members of the guild its also really just a fun run.

The Huntsman is a competition between me and the tank! Once he mounts up on midnight I'm trying to steal aggro before we kill him! Came damn close tonight, if I hadn't used Bestial wrath in the first phase Attumen would have been smacking me in the face rather than just charging me now and then. And yup I had salvation on.

Moroes and our main tank finally got his watch trinket!

The Maiden - dead in 1 minute 40 seconds! taking a massive 18 seconds of the previous guild record :)

Opera Event was Romulo & Julianne so no shot at Legacy for me this week :( But as no one wanted it I suddenly found Despair being dumped in my bags! Fine I'll enchant it with mongoose and use it when I want to wind people up!

Then Nightbane died allowing me to complete a quest and get a new gem.

Curator came out of the first innovate at about 25% health if not lower! Two locks are sick, but I claim 3% of the damage one of the locks did due to Ferocious Inspiration. The curator didn't drop my ring :(

Aran, and we almost killed him BEFORE the elementals despawned. Only 3% health out so maybe next time it will happen.

After Aran I was done, time to swap with a hunter who needs the Chess event and the Prince. It was a damn fine raid up until that point!

Wednesdays SSC Raid - Yup I'm a week behind!

The reset had happened so it was time to clear out this instance and get a good amount of time to practice on Vashj later in he week!

First the lurker, and we wiped :(, how I don't know but that just should not happen! Any way second shot and down he went like the big baby fish/lizard thing he is! (And I caught him both attempts! )

Onwards to Leo the blind, it was bit messy after the split at 15% - we lost our lock tank at around the 6% mark as well! But despite this he died first attempt and so we can safely say this guy is now on FARM status. Add to this I got my T5 gloves :)

Then we moved onto Morrowgrim as there weren't enough healers for the Fathom Lord. Well we spent a while wiping on him, until finally like a huge felled tree he came crashing down to the ground. Second guild kill of this boss and my first.

It was just past midnight and so the raid was called. But I just have to mention the Pattern drops! becasue there where loads for a change.

First came the Boots of Blasting from the Lurker (aka Not The Boots!) and we had a very happy 375 Tailor mage. Next came the Boots of the Crimson Hawk and I was on VERY happy hunter :) Third dropped the Red Havoc Boots - taken by a tincan blacksmith. Finally, yup there was more, the Belt of the Long Road dropped. This is only the 2nd non leather working pattern to drop for guild, the first being the Red Belt of Battle whos crafter is no longer in the guild. Two of our Priests are now signed up for the vortexes for this belt.
As for the vortexes we had 6 drop in total. 2 for me to make a Belt of Deep Shadow for one of our rogues, 2 for me to make a Belt of Natural Power for one of the feral druid, and 2 for a warrior to finish upgrading his weapon.

All in all it was and Awsome raid!

Lady Vashj Reached!

On tuesday we got our first look at Lady Vashj in SSC.

With the hour or so of raiding time left for the night we decided to have a go at her in order to get a feel for the fight.

Phase 1 (down to 70%) was easy peasy almost a basic tank and spank we had no problems what so ever! Phase 2 - Arrgghhhh!!!!!! Mobs everywhere people not having a clue what to kill and the inevitable wipe.

While I was waiting for the raid to be res'd and buffed, I had a quick look at Boss Killers in order to get an idea of what I should be expecting in the fight. Looks resonably simple in Phase 1 & 3, just 2 is the hard part!

Anyway we had a few more attempts after that - some how doing worse in phase 1 than the very first go! Just after 12 the raid was called and everyone was fired up ready to clear the instance after the reset and get some good practice time in on Vashj

Wisp’s FOO Report #1 – Reading

I took a much needed day of work Friday to go see my parents in Oxford, this has the benefits of good free food, My dad’s a chef, plus as my Sister put it on Saturday morning, “He’s just treating this place as a free B&B!” Which just happens to be true but that’s besides the point. So on Saturday morning I got a lift to reading, for the Pre-release at Eclectic Games.

What’s Wrong at Cenarion Thicket?

Deck Building
Ok, Now I knew what I had to play with! And some of these new cards are funky . Its time to sort out a class, faction & hero. Well I have 4 equipment in total and not a single weapon so bye-bye to Warriors, Rogues, Paladins. No hunter pets to make up for the lack of weapons so bye to them too! . Ok got a cat form card for the druid but its only one and there is now way of recovering it once destroyed so Druids are out. Priests I have….erm ok… bye Priests.

That’s 6 down and 3 to go! Shaman, Mage or Warlock. Shamans have healing x3 and interrupt + damage and if I go alliance a one turn +2 ATK to all my allies. With so few heavy beat sticks the healing won’t help much so there goes shaman.
Left know with Mage and Warlock, both of which will benefit from the chromatic cloak. The mage had 4 damage abilities to gain from it including Frost Nava and Frost Funnel which can stop things attacking me.
Warlocks only had one direct damage card in Immolate but that’s also a dot so more potential cloak benefit. Plus there is soul Jar (Pay 4 remove target ally from the game – Ongoing: Destroy Soul Jar you pay (2) less to play your next pet this turn) which goes o so nicely with that wonderful little Infernal! Which to go for? Strongly tempted to Warlock due to the infernal and also with a small number of beat sticks Mage gets tossed.

Faction was decided simply on the top end beat sticks! For the hoard there where 2 Ash’ergi (C5 – 3/5 – Stealth - +1 ATK for each damage on him). Nice card bypassed those annoying protectors (something I only had 1 off!!!!). To remove him is likely to result in a 2 or 3 for 1 trade off which is good for me, but once he’s dead I have only a load of fragile none ferocity allies left!!!.
On the alliance side there is Norrund Grovewalker (C6 – 5/4 – Elusive – Untargetable) yup this card is NICE! Especially as it’s a common. With the only way to remove it being AoE damage the choice was a no brainer really – Alliance.

So which hero? Erm another no brainer Dizzy here I come!

So for my deck I threw in all the Warlocks cards, all the allies apart from Lafiel and Caddrick. Add in a chromatic cloak, For the quests Defias, Maw, Darrowshire & It’s a secret from the original set. With the new quests I added in Gahz’ridian (Pay 5 draw 2), One Draenei’s Junk x2 & Cenarion Thicket (Pay 1 on your turn both players draw a card). Bung in a Shattering blow to make a deck of 30 cards.

In hind sight I should have left out the cloak and Cenarion Thicket and maybe put in Lafiel & Battle Preparations. While I never got to use shattering blow the new 5 cost instant version Defensive Breach may have been a better choice.

My final deck on its curve was:-

1 Drops
Sparroweye x2 - Krenig Soulguard
Fear
It’s a Secret – Defias – Darrowshire - Cenarion Thicket - Into the maw (where else can I list it!)

2 Drops
Milo – Gallen - Adept Breton - Peacekeepers - Goodchilde
Immolate – Sever the cord
One Draenei’s Junk x2

3 Drops
Angrida – Nightwind – Spindleflame

4 Drops
Nalkas
Jar Soul – Shattering Blow
Chromatic Cloak

5 Drops
Liba Wobblebonk
Gahz’ridian

6 Drops
Infernal – Grovewalker x2

The Tournament
Ok now I spent ages about my deck building its onto the actual matches – And here my notes a crap so will be much shortened (add to that I’m halve asleep atm…) Any way onwards with the reports.

Match 1 – Lee
The last time I played Lee was at a couple of London regionals ago where my under construction Phaladus deck got squashed by evil warrior - 31 damage in a turn - combos!
Today Lee was playing Dizzy! So its gnome lock against gnome lock! In the first game I sort of got overwhelmed! Trades working in his favour, EVIL sarmoth getting in the way, protectors on his side of the board and a rapidly squished gnome on my side.
Game 2! This time it went my way I get control of the board enough (usually empty!) to get out Mr Grovewalker and start laying down the pain! Result = Squashed gnome on his side!
And then decider (There was one in every match for me ). This game was sort of like the first I got overwhelmed and squashed!
So now 0-1

Match 2 – John
This is an opponent I’ve never played before so can’t start with some comment about past games or wanting revenge or anything like that so will just get on with the game. My opposing hero this time was Mojo Shapper Ojo’mon (really! Trolls should just all be put down for having really stupid names!).
In game one I was sort of overwhelmed (I was starting to get used to this! And it would continue!) and my gnoom got squashed by the big bad troll!
Game two & three where pretty similar lots of damage to both sides but the combination of 2 or 3 of my 3 beat-sticks was enough to cut the troll down to size!
In this match up “Sparroweye” really began to shine! This nice little ally is (C1 – 1/1 – Pay (1) Sparroweye has long range this turn) when left unmolested for a turn or two becomes really good at clearing fragile allies, and with 2 in play was even better.
So now 1-1

Match 3 – Alex
Another opponent I’ve not played against! This is looking good (3 rounds and no Jacimo! The Fates must be taking a nap!). Alex’s hero was the “Kneecapper” – Gnomes really do look stupid in Wrath, they always have and always will do!
Game one and the cards just flowed, smash, smash, smash!!! And I ripped that silly axe helmet of the gnoom and punted him across the room! One up!
Round two and where did all my cards go? By poor little dizzy got really beaten up!
The tie breaker round! Now this was probably the best single game of the whole day, even though I lost! Towards the end I was sitting there with 10 health looking at his allies and weapon capable of doing 10 damage! Only one way to survive his next turn was to take out an ally with one of mine – was ok with me, had enough to kill him on my next go! His turn and he flipped his hero and his allies hit me for 8, then he hit me with the dagger for 1. So close maybe just maybe…. Nah! Down game the Sunfury bow which was then exhausted to ping Dizzy for 1
So now 1-2

Match 4 – Tim
Tim was one of those mean people who beat me at the Birmingham pre-release of Heroes. Admittedly I had no chance with a Moonshadow starter deck! But that’s no reason not to want REVENGE!!!111oneoneone. Not that I do, just saying its not a reason not to. Tim was playing Mazar, the other alliance gnome lock, btw.
Game one and “Sparroweye” earned his keep, the beats game down hard and fast and dizzy proofed she was better than any new comer to the Gnomish Warlock Throne!. 1 up to me.
Game two and the tempo was in my favour until he played Battle “Preparations”. So I couldn’t attack on my next turn, big deal I thought he can’t attack on his next turn either so lets lay down some weenies, including Gallen, to pound into him on my next go! The his turn and down came Shadow Fury 2 Damage to all my allies and exhaust them – not that was an issue because they all died! Clear field nothing on my side and his big 6 drops came down and squashed me!
So the final tiebreaker, “Sparroweye”, both of them, kept the field reasonable clear for the early game. Later on I was sitting on 5 resources and a Grove Walker plus one card in the hand. Completed it’s a secret, put the second Grove Walker to the top and completed Darrowshire to draw it. Down goes a card as a resource and out comes my beatstick! The match had turned into a DPS race! Next turn the other walker and I won the race!
Yay VENGENCE (not that I was after it!) was mine!
So finally 2-2

Put me in 6th place out of 10 which considering the cards I had compared to what I saw some other people play was not too bad.

Thursday Night Draft

Every Thursday, at Pheonix Games, in the run upto the UK's WoW TCG National Championship we are playing draft tournaments in order to get in practice. This week we had 8 players, including vistors Lost Ghost & Tyma - from Stockport and Swansea respectively.

Format was 2 HoA & 2 DP.

The deck I built was as follows

Hero: Elendril
32 Cards

1 Drops:
Bloodclaw x2
Apprentice Merry x1
Wing Clip x1
Eye of Rend x1
Battle of Darrowshire x1

2 Drops:
Avanthera x1
Tracker Gallen x1
Jeleane Nightbreeze x1
Overseer Oilfist x1
Arcane Shot x1
Eagle Eye x1
Ravenous Bite x2
A Donation of Silk x1

3 Drops:
Parvink x1
Trophey Kill x2
Black Crow x1 (2 Drop + 1 Swing)
Masons Fraternity Ring x1

Crown of Earth x1
The Perfect Stout x1
Divono-matic Rod x1
Manhunt x1

4 Drops:
Margaret Fowl x1
Tristan Rapid Strike x1
Scimitar of the Nexus Stalkers x1 (2 Drop + 2 Swing)

6 Drops:
Acolyte Demia x1
Raul "Fingers" Maldren x1

1+X Drops:
Aimed Shot x1

9 Drops:
King Magni Bronzebeard x1

Ok I made some mistakes with cards used but onto that later!

Round One: Tyma
Ok the mean Welshman started of by showing me the hootie he had drafted and then writing "Not For You" on the card!!! Then put down his
As this game played out I managed to get both my weapons and the leggings out withing a resonable amount of time. Judicious use of Ravenous bite allowed me to keep control of the board. On the arcane shotted death of his elusive longrange allie - Tyma conceded defeat.
A win :D yipee

Round Two: The annoying little one (Jake)
Jake was playing Phaladus the tentacle face shamen, and I knew (because he had to tell every one!) that there was a Leeroy Jenkins lurking in his deck. Most of the match was a bit to and throw with regards to who was winning. I delibratly kept back a wing clip for Leeroy, but was forced to use it before he turned up. Unfortunatly for me Jake had pulled a Chain Lightning and with it cleared the field and squashed me over the next two turns.
A loss - to Jake!!!!!!!!! - Head to be banged against a wall 20 times to make up for it (Jakes head not mine!)
We played a friendly after while waiting for the next round and I walked ALL over him! Such is life of 1 game drafts!

Round Three: Jamie
Another blimming shamen! this time in the form of Grennan. Unfortunatly for me in this game the cards just did not flow! Frost shocked all over the place, Greefer stoping me completing any quests for 2 rounds until I got rid of him, Big beefy mobs beating into me and Flame Shock. The game tood a while but in the end I was overwhelmed!
Another loss - To jamie in draft is acceptable - Just 3 head bangings against a wall (Again Jakes and not mine!)

The Loot:
The way we avoid rare drafting - This is practice for the nationals after all!!! - is to put all the rares/epics out after the tourney and in order of first to last pick a card. My abysmal performance ment I didn't get the leeroy or the magni, which are both needed for my collection, but I did end up with the following

1> Aimed Shot (Needed for the MM hunter deck once FoO is released)
2> Herod's Shoulder (Valueable Card)
3> Arcane Power (For and Arcane mage deck)
4> Bloodrage (Awsome warrior draw power!)

Musings:
Magni in the deck was a bad idea! I should have left him out because I was never realisticaly going to get upto 9 resources as I was lacking the stall power for that.
As I was lacking any form of GY recursion in any of the cards I drafted it might have been a better idea to have run with Grumpherys and not take the aimed shot - at least that way I could have given one of the blood claw's a turn of almost total protection.
The eye of rend was pointless and I only had two weapons and so I think I would have been better leaving it out.

Well Saturday & Sunday are FoO pre-release events so I get to play with new cards in draft am looking forward to it :)
Tourney reports will be posted up here and on Zapped Giants.

BlogShares!

For the first time in over a year, could be as much as 2-3 years!!!! I logged into BlogShares. For those that don't know BlogShares is an online stock market game. Where players get to buy and sell shares in Blogs! A blogs value is based on the value of incomming links and how people have been buying and selling the shares.

It appears that I'm quite well off these days! While only having shares in 5 blogs, the value in one is a nice B$8,900,828.64. (the B$ is a blogshare dollar). Add to this my idea commodities (blogs generate these in there industrys and if you own enough you can buy artifacts that do nifty things) worth about B$212,002,422.06. Finally my cash on hand being B$513,466,761.92.
So with a current net worth of B$735,056,453.50 its time to start playing again and making MORE B$!!!

To do this I have a plan! I'm going to start adding the WoW blogs I read to the index, one by one. For each i'll buy all the shares I can for it, then I'll add another blog that links to the first one :)

Pendragon Campaign (1)

Over the time we have been playing this game we have had several players come and go sometimes after a few seasions and sometimes after months. The characters that have been there from the start though are mine and Rich's; the Warrior Druid and the Irish Huntsman.

Chris who is running the game has made some changes to the magic rules by scaling everything down a step. So Weeks > Days, Days > Hours, Hours > Minutes, Minutes > Turns. This has made the system usable with a magic using characters who is an ongoing character.

So, who is Craig Liamson? He was a young druid, trained by his grandfather, recently initiated who had the desire to travel Albion's sites of power. So he set off on his wandering across a land in turmoil armed with his mace and magical talent for protection.

Two years later he found himself in Salisbury and after an incident with a Fae court ended up as friends with Kian (the insane Irish Huntsman) and a man at arms for the Earl. So began the growing legend that is Craig Liamson, founder of the House of Ravens.

Consortium Exalted!

After a few hours of grinding today I finally got the last 4k honour needed for exalted with the Consortium :) About time, as I've been putting it off for months. This makes 20 factions complete and only a few more TBC ones left to go.

With my new found status I went of to Nagrand to get my bag bursting full of rare gems!!! I wish at least I got a Living Ruby tho, which are like gold dust on my server.

Hex

Just finished rewatching Hex - both Season One and Season Two. And I think I was more impressed the second time round than the first. And it really gets to me that they axed it rather than making a third season. What this show really needs is a conclusion, a third season of about the length of the first (6 Episodes) more would be to much based on the situation at the close of the second.

Now there are those who say that Hex is an adult buffy - to that I can say "GET REAL". Don't get me wrong I AM a buffy fan, (thats the in a show sense. for characters i'm a HUGE Willow & Anya fan....). I just find it irritating the way people broadly compare shows that happen to be in the same Genre.

Buffy is about a girl who kills Vampires, and later on demons - its mythos is of multiple dimensions of demonic realms. Its roots are more from fantasy.

Hex is about Fallen Angles, temptation, even love with someone you know is Evil. The second series has Ella, nearly 500 years old and and dedicated to preventing Azazeal's son being born. Its roots are much more Biblical in nature.

Similarities - A school, some one who kills evil things, ... Thats about it. Hex is an Awsome show and should be judged on its own merits not compared to something it holds very little in common with!

Roleplay, Intro Post

I've been roleplaying since I started uni way back in 95! And currently I'm playing two campaigns one is Vampire and the other Pendragon. I will be posting about the games as they happen with some extra posts about whats happened so far. This is the intro post so some introduction about my chars :)

Campaign 1 - Vampire the Masquarade (2nd Ed revised)
Yup we are playing the old world of darkness storyteller system, the reason being that while I have purchased the core books for the new WoD - Which has a much neater and slicker system - my friends aren't particualy interested in it. (Thats what happens to old people!!!)
The game is being run by my friend G and its the first campaign she has run for multiple people in years and years and years! And as far as I know its only the 2nd ever so we get away with loads we maybe shouldn't do!
My character is called Zoe Gallows a 7th Generation Lasombra (We tend to play high powered games as well - Think its an ego thing).

Campaign 2 - Pendragon (Edition ?? First time I've played this system)
In this system we get to be Knights! well thats if you play a standard campaign (hahaha as if that will ever happen). My current character is Craig Liamson, druid - and now Earl of Hartford. This system is intriging as its a dynastic game - so that when you characters get kill off or die of old age your next character is one of your children! Fortunatly Craig has several of them :)

Thats about it for this post.

The secret of the FALSE Caffiene

Ok as proof I am 100% in my right mind I am going to tell the world the TRUTH about that wonderful drug Caffiene and the attrocities that have been caused because of it!

Tea Leafs naturally contain Caffiene and Coffee Beans are naturally Caffiene free!

You may now be wondering how you get DeCaffienated tea and coffee with Caffiene? The answer is horrific, brutal and tragic. At night time when no one is looking the Coffiene beans sneak into the tea leaf fields and steal it!!!! I did say it was horrific!

The result of this evil act is you get yuck tasting and pointless Tea, and Coffee - the FALSE caffiene - which tastes as bad!

That people is a true fact I made up.

Introduction

I've been thinking of making a blog on and off for ages and now I've finally decided to make the whole world suffer and start one. So this is now the place to dump my thoughts on my hobbies, life and other wierd ideas that may pop into my head.

My hobbies are (and this is what I will talk about) :-

World of Warcraft, the PC game- I'm beyond cure for this addiction!
World of Warcraft, the TCG - It gets me away from my PC and I'm resonably good at it!
Roleplay - Thats Pen & Paper like Vampire, Shadowrun etc
